Hi - my amazing kid!! You are truly an inspiration to anyone who is thinking about travelling. Swimming with the dolphins must have been an incredible experience! Hopefully the freezing water didn't exasperate that "bug" that has a hold on you.
I read and reread all of your entries and anxiously wait for new ones!! The pictures are vivid and your writing is extraordinary.
Feel well, stay safe and savor every minute!

Hello Lisa - and her readers - you got a big shout out on Chicagoist today, and I just had to check out your adventures. I'm the executive director at the big beautiful Hostelling International hostel in Chicago. All the staff here are getting a link to you blog as we are all avid travelers. It's both inspiring and frustrating to be surrounded by carefree travelers every day while you're hard at work. That said, we love to hear about the adventures of our travelers, and we will love keeping track of your journey. If and when you get back to Chicago, we would love to have you stop by the hostel. Happy travels!

Hi Lisa, That water sounded soooo cold, I was relieved when the guy said get out, I was shivering for you. You take care over there and stay free of the fever. The pictures are beautiful!!! And your instincts sound perfectly in-tune. Keep listening to them.
Stay Warm :-)

Dear Matilda,
You have made history. You are the first trained journalist to file a story from New Zealand without 1 mention of the word "sheep". A grateful hemisphere thanks you for sparing us the sheep:human ratio. Neither the dolphins nor the Brit had backpacks, and they were the friendliest. I think Simon offered good advice. The aromatic element of this trip must improve. In one of these ports there must be a duty free fragrance shop. The pics look lush. Stay healthy you tough Jersey Girl.
