Well! You've come a looong way baby!! From grilled bacon 'n cheese to foods I can't even pronounce. You're right about the Jews and chinese food - every Sunday come hell or high water - we were at the "Flaming Dragon" so to speak. I think it was part of the Ten Commandments. I enjoyed the "trips" back in time to Brooklyn and NYC and to your college days at Letterman.
Then off to Chicago, a city that you obviously love and miss very much. I enjoy reading about all those different types of dishes that you have come to love and that I probably will never try. Your adventures in eating definitely didn't come from me!! So, now I'm hungry and need to find a nosh!! Hey! It's Sunday and you know what that means!!

I am enjoying reading about your travels especially the recent stops in Australia. I enjoyed visiting their this past Spring. I am glad you are enjoying Melbourne. So many people told us there was no reason to go to Melbourne if we were hitting Sydney but we made sure to visit both and were so glad we did not miss Melbourne. It is such a beautiful and fun city.

If you get a chance spend a day on the Great Ocean Road leaving Melbourne toward Port Adelaide. It has a ton of beautiful views and wildlife. I have some photos up on Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/chicagoist_todd/sets/72157594350569701/).

Wow, what a pretty City your visiting! Loved those pictures. And all that talk of Chicago and food,I was reminded of my many, many trips to Blind Faith Cafe in Evanston. Of course when I first started going to the Blind Faith it was on the corner of Dempster and you could walk in, make your own carrot juice and go to the kitchen to order your delicious meal, set your own table, and just simply relax and enjoy. Those were some great times! Totally enjoyed the walk through NY and Chicago with you. And Melbourne is soooo pretty. Okay I'm hungry :-) I'll check back in this weekend.
Enjoy!!!!

Like the local viddles d'ya? Hey, good hearing from you my dear Matilda. I always knew about Chinese take out being a fave among Jewish people everywhere, but the cheese and bacon sandwiches have heretofore been your little secret. Got to be totally honest with you: I don't miss the "squeegie industry" even a little bit. The open air fruit market looks wonderful. Midsummer Night's Dream is one of Bill's best.
