I've always wanted to go back to the states – I did the west coast as a child, and have since only flown through Chicago, making a quick pit sttop at the airport.

I think I should put it on my list for this year!

My dear friend. How right you are. There is nowhere in the world not worth visting, but in the case of Chicago, there's no place like home. Carl Sandburg's poem about the city of big shoulders rings true. If he were a modern day scribe, he might skip the parts about hog butcher to the world and simply say "Bring it". A son of Chicago will occupy the White House. Don't forget that a daughter of Chicago gave him a good run in the primary. To your other thousands of readers who might consider us a little shameless in our promotion of our city, be patient with us. A love affair with a city that blows us around, humidifies us, freezes us, drenches us with rain and snow and still continues to call us home to love her is something so spectacular that we wish everyone had a city to love like ours.
