Hi!
I'd love to buy you a cup of coffee for reading this little write-up of yours, but I'm a little tight right now with all the lay off going on in this great country of ours. It's so good to read some writings that are really down to earth. not all this put on bull-crap,.. if you know what I mean.

Yes,... Vincent himself, if he were alive today, would love this little story of yours, for in his life time he knew his works were meant to hang somewhere other than the shit house walls, or even possibly in this little French town of Arles, which the ones living there seemed to cause a lot of his own griefs.

Most people there in Arles still believe today this so-called idiot insane painter still did not know how to paint,... and I believe it has just had been handed down more so there in that little town of Arles than any other place in this world. I do also believe that most people reading Vincent biographies think that every other building there was a whore house or of ill repute.

I myself can't hardly get over the fact that someone there in that town of Arles had not insisted on the fact that it was his whole ear that he had left that prostitute to give to Gauguin. Anyway,... I hope you have a nice Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Cheers!

It seems that in your travels you could be officially titled as "belonging to the world". Therefore, you would be on a first name basis with all of these folks you reported on. Claude, Paulie, Vinnie, Augie and Louie. My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I swear I remember you pointing to a picture above your fireplace and telling me "Vince painted this one for me". Now I know that in truth, Vince painted it for your mother. The whole "ear thing" was such a turn off that she gave the painting to you. I used to tease my artist son as a tyke that the correct pronunciation of Monet's name was 'Cloud Monitt'. Jokes on me. He's getting his art degree at Columbia College this year and French chix just giggle when I go by. Au Revior. Happy Thanksgiving.
