Whilst your compatriots are all off to church on Sunday morning, the middle aged of Britain are trawling trestle tables set out at the back of cars in fields and school car parks. Having helped a friend a few years ago your early birders reminded me of the hordes that were poking around *inside* the car whilst we were unloading. Scary! But, £350 later... a risk worth taking. My boyfriend and his sister spent last weekend in CT, pursuing similar clean-up goals at their mom's place. Are garage sale people just the weirdest subculture or what? I shudder to think of having to do this someday... the house I grew up in was also the house my dad grew up in, so there are MANY generations of crappity-crap packed away in various nooks & crannies.
