The day I flew into London, I hit the ground running with lots to do before the big World Travel Market conference that I was attending and at which I was speaking. What did I do first? I dragged my jet-laggy behind and airplane-stiff body to the Chuan Spa at the famous Langham London Hotel. Starting off with this spa break in London was either going to be a super relaxing way to kick start my trip or a huge mistake. Massages usually relax my super-crunched up muscles, but at the same time they can knock me out making me nearly worthless to do much of anything afterwards. The Chuan Spa at The Langham London, has been designed to create an ambience of tranquillity for both contemplation and inspiration. I was ready to contemplate AND be inspired. Bring it on.
In English, the word Chuan means a serene course of water. In Chinese culture, flowing water is seen to be the source of life and balance; a key to keeping mind, body and soul in check. Chuan Spa was like an Asian luxury haven in the heart of the London. I walked past the exclusive treatment facilities like the aroma steam rooms, saunas, vitality pool and a salt sauna on my way to my massage room. It was a great way to kick off my trip, if only I could have just lulled into sleep afterwards instead of having to return to the bustling city streets and head to a meeting.
Disclosure: I was a guest of the Chaun Spa at the Langham, but as usual all opinions and views are my own.
