I just left Cracker Barrel #2 just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah and dropped off my first CD Book. See the “Yellowstone Fever” post for more about renting audio books.
I decided to stay for an early dinner.
I have never eaten at a Cracker Barrel before. I always kinda made fun of it as a gimmicky roadside stop that was a little too “country bumpkin” for me. It’s full of kitschy Americana memorabilia and other crap. But it does have a certain charm. But why is it called Cracker Barrel? I’ve heard of shooting ‘fish in a barrel’ and pickle barrels, but crackers? It doesn’t seem like the best storage container for them. They certainly would all break. Then they’d have to change the name to ‘Cracker-Crumb Barrel.’
