Video Interview: Mile Nerd – The No Nonsense Frequent Flier Mile Expert

You are here: Home / More Good Stuff / Interviews / Video Interview: Mile Nerd – The No Nonsense Frequent Flier Mile Expert

//  by Lisa 16 Comments

From time to time I’ll take part in the frequent flier mile game. I’ll open a credit card strictly to get the 40,000 mile bonus and then when the annual fee kicks in, I’ll cancel it. There are several sites you may already know dedicated to miles – talking about them, accruing them, and bitching about them.

    • FrequentMiler
    • ThePointsGuy
    • Flyertalk

Recently I somehow came across a new site (to me) called MileNerd, and although, I am berated by him weekly as a weak, chicken not ready to fully jump into the game, I love him. Why? Because not only is MileNerd a good writer, he keeps it simpler than most other sites out there about…anything.

His tag line says it all: Just the most miles in the fewest words possible.

His updates are super short – supplying you with the latest deal he’s uncovered, providing you with the link, and getting out. Bam. Done.

Paul2

In today’s cluttered and clogged internet world, it is SO nice to have a site that give you the info you need and nothing more. Nothing on his site distracts or sends you into a tangent forest (causing major bouts of A.D.D.). I like it so much that I subscribed to his email list and now get his updates in my inbox. An inbox, I like to keep super clean. His updates are super fast to read and then delete, poof! They are gone. Can you belive he is only the 2nd blog update I actually subscribe to?

Mile Nerd on Vacation

As I often do when I come across a new site, I poked around his blog for a picture or ‘about me’ page and found none. So I wrote him to compliment him on his fine site and beautiful succinctness and invited him to do an interview.

Part of me kind of liked his anonymous persona which made his site strictly about the miles but in the last couple months he’s started to reveal more and more about himself and I can’t tell if I like it or not. Turns out he’s a realtor in LA and also an actor.

So of course here’s even more to destroy the mystique that is the MileNerd!
