Top Zero-Waste Products for Travel Lovers

You are here: Home / Travel Tips / Top Zero-Waste Products for Travel Lovers

//  by Guest Poster Leave a Comment

Trying to dance between your love for traveling and your compassion for the environment? You can actually do both! All you need is the right tools to help you reduce your carbon footprint while you are on the road.

Here’s a list of top zero-waste products we’ve compiled for travel lovers like yourself!

Table of Contents

Toggle
  • 1. Zero-Waste Toothbrush
  • 2. Zero-Waste Razor
  • 3. Zero-Waste Deodorant
  • 4. Zero-Waste Soap Bag
  • 5. Zero-Waste Organic Facial Rounds

1. Zero-Waste Toothbrush

Maintaining good oral hygiene even when you are traveling is non-negotiable. Bacteria continuously build up in your mouth, and the only way you can hit that reset button is by brushing your teeth. Instead of traveling with your usual disposable toothbrush, however, try using Brush with Bamboo’s zero-waste toothbrush instead!

It’s completely plant-based: the handle is bamboo and the bristles are made from castor bean bioplastic. It’s also BPA-free and Green American Certified, so it’s completely safe to put in your mouth (unlike other toothbrushes!). When you order, expect the product to be shipped in compostable packaging.

2. Zero-Waste Razor

If you prefer to keep your facial or body hair trimmed even when you are on the go, then you will love the Leaf Shave’s zero-waste safety razor. It’s made from metal and zinc, it’s entirely recyclable, and it allows you to shave extremely closely. That means less burns, nicks, and ingrown hairs.

To use it, treat it like you would a disposable razor with a pivoting head. Once the safety razor blade needs changing, snap a new blade in half and put that half in the razor. You can also load up to three halved blades and adjust the aggressiveness to your preference.

Finally, you can wave goodbye to your good old razors that only last for a few shaving sessions but take forever to degrade!

3. Zero-Waste Deodorant

Sweating is part of traveling, as it entails you to move your body constantly. But it can be inconvenient especially when certain body parts start to smell. If you want to make road trips more pleasant for you and those around you, then don’t forget to bring deodorant.

However, don’t just settle for any type of deodorant. Go for Bai-li’s zero-waste deodorant instead! It’s made from natural ingredients and is certified organic. It also comes in a biodegradable paperboard push tube and is shipped in an entirely recycled padded mailer.

To use it, manually push up the tube with your thumb in a circular motion. It will help the deodorant come up gently and evenly. If you’ve pushed it too high, gently tap the bottom of the tube on a surface to place it back down.

Just make sure not to leave it in a hot place. This zero-waste deodorant is oil-based and will therefore melt.

4. Zero-Waste Soap Bag

Traveling light is not only convenient, but it also reduces your carbon footprint. Your weight plus the weight of what you lug around are a source of carbon emissions. For instance, when you’ve packed your entire life with you to an airplane, the plane must exert extra effort to carry your total weight.

That’s why travel kits exist. They are a more compact version of your essentials at home. But did you know you can extend the life of your essentials such as your soap? Casa Agave’s zero-waste, soap-extender and loofah bag can help you with that. Made from loose-woven agave fiber, it prolongs the life of your soap by helping you create suds easily instead of always using your soap directly.

To use it, place it under running water, give it a rub, and then you can start exfoliating right away. You can also use soap scraps and it will perform just the same. The soap should be able to fully dry in between uses.

5. Zero-Waste Organic Facial Rounds

Taking care of your skin is important especially when you’re traveling. You are constantly exposed to different levels of air quality, which can leave your face exposed to all kinds of dirt. Unfortunately, you often have to wait until you’re back in your hotel room so you can clean up.

Take better care of your facial skin with LastObject’s reusable facial rounds. They are organic, compostable, and can be reused 1,750 times or more! Unlike the traditional disposable facial rounds, these do not contain chemicals that are dangerous to your skin and the environment.

Simply use them with your favorite organic cleansing product, and then gently wash them with soap and water afterwards. They also come in a reusable ocean-bound plastic case, which is plastic recovered from waterways, beaches, and more. Not only are these reusable facial rounds great for the environment, but they’re also so much better for your skin.

Reducing your carbon footprint as you travel has never been this easy! With these top zero-waste products for traveling, you can finally enjoy exploring the world while keeping the environment in mind.
