Travel apps abound. New ones seem to come out each week promising to make your travel planning and organizing easier. But which ones really do the trick? As a girl that doesn’t like clutter in life or on my phone, I only want a few apps—ones that do a task and do it well, that cut through the clutter and really serve a function.
This brand new app, from a Chicago-based startup, is sleek, easy-to-use, and simple. It’s a trip-planning tool, that keeps all the things you want to see and do in one place. According to the founders, it used to be that the only way to plan a trip was to save your ideas in spreadsheets, bookmarks, and sometimes in a notebook. This app keeps all your destination ideas and plans in one place.

What does it do?
- The Tripnary App helps you organize your ever-expanding bucket list of trips and places you want to see. You can browse trending attractions (sights, landmarks, and hidden gems) that are popular among other travelers just like you and simply “favorite” the ones you want to save.
- When you are ready, it helps you find the cheapest flight for your next vacation. You can compare airfares to every destination in your list with a single tap.
- And once you are there, it helps you stay organized and efficient with your time. Tripnary will show you everything you have saved on a map to help you plan your day and optimize your route.
All the fun of travel without the hassle of tedious organization.
Why is it good (and fun)?
You can continuously save and update your bucket list with cities, museums, little-known gems, restaurants, or anything in the world that inspires you, so you never forget what you want to see. Just swipe through and tap the “heart” to save it.
Then you can compare airfares to every destination in your list in one tap, without wasting time on airfare sites.
And finally, you can share your bucket list with friends through email, text message, WhatsApp, or Facebook.
Currently, there is no great way to save, book, and share your travel bucket list on a mobile device. Apps like Pinterest and Evernote allow you only to bookmark and create a basic list. Tripnary takes it a step further and lets travelers compare airfares across all destinations in their bucket list and plan their next vacation with little effort. Plus it’s fun and inspiring to plan out all the places you will go!
