About six years ago, I was wandering around Bangkok, and basically bumped into a tall American guy as we were both looking at visiting the Grand Palace, but apparently it wasn’t open to visitors that day. So, we did the next best thing, we went and had a beer.
Work in Antarctica
As always with people I meet around the world, Andre had a story to tell. It turns out he lived and worked in Antarctica half of the year as a fire captain.
This fascinated me to no end so a couple years ago, I was able to interview him when he was back up here in the States.

Amazing place to visit! I hope to get there some day, though I am worried a bit about the cold. Great pic.
I would LOVE to get there too. It’s so vast too and you’d only see a ‘tip of the iceberg’ so to speak!
An amazing place – and amazing people. You did a wonderful jkob with this interview!
Thank you. Such a fascinating life there.
